I am new here but as many of those who post, I am also loosing my mind.
So I've had this issue for over a decade (32yrs old now) where I notice red blood or small clots in the stool. Recently, it has been more prominent and past Monday, it felt like something popped - the end result, toilet full of blood, and little clots. Is it possible that it was an internal hemorrhoid that popped??
I am attaching a picture of my anal area - I would really appreciate if anybody would be willing to assess if that indeed looks like internal piles?
(Also, I had a colonoscopy about 7 years ago that came clear)
Thank you in advance and my apologies for a graphic photograph.
Best,
Pat

Thank you for posting on Colon Cancer Connected. I hate you are having to deal with these symptoms. There can be many reasons for what you are experiencing and it could be a popped hemorrhoid. It is good to see you had this checked out 7 years ago with a colonoscopy and all was clear then. I assume hemorrhoids was the diagnosis then.
It may be good to have this done again just to get some good answers to what you are experiencing now and to give you peace of mind. It has been 7 years and blood in the stool is definitely a sign to get checked and determine answers.
We do wish you all the best in getting answers. Please let us know what you find out from your doctors as that can be very helpful to others as well.
Thank you,
