I’ve been experiencing mucus and blood in stool and some abdominal pain sometimes. I was fine until I used restroom and saw my situation and now I haven’t been eating much last 2 days because I’m so worried ever since that BM yesterday now I feel like I need to go often and sometimes I go and it’s just mucus. Has anyone experienced this? And if so was everything okay!? I’m really just looking for some sort of positive outcomes

Hi Desipinkston,
Did you make that doctor appointment? What you are experiencing are signs of what could be caused by many different things. Please focus on getting things checked out by your doctor. Make the appointment and tell them your symptoms. Blood in the stool and abdominal pain are signs that need to be checked out.
There are many causes for blood in the stool, some are very treatable with medication, diet change, and minor procedures, and of course, there are more serious reasons for blood in the stool as well. For that reason, we always advise patients to seek medical care when they have blood in the stool.
Bottom line, you need to get answers and narrow down the spectrum of what could be to what is actually happening. This will go a long way to help your worrying and anxiety.
Please make that doctor appointment and get on the path of getting answers and getting on the path of being well.👍
Thank you,

Just a reminder - this group is here to offer support, share experiences, and offer our thoughts - but this is not medical advice, and you should always consult your medical professional(s). Additionally, for all emergencies, seek urgent medical care, never delay.
also have you ever heard of these symptoms and it not be as serious?
Awesome going to primary care Dr.👍 And Yes. So many things can be causing this and the key is catching things early. Getting info early!!!!!
I didn't have symptoms until I was around 45 with a small lump on my lower abdomen. It didn't hurt so I ignored it. It became tender and I had some stool changes (no blood) at age 49 and got a CT scan. I was stage 4 metastatic colon cancer. Full blown. Had I acted when I was 45 or even earlier given I have a family history of it, I could have avoided a 4 1/2 year fight. The tumor they took out of me was a polyp 6 years earlier. My oncologist told me that.
Try not to get ahead of a diagnosis - there's no one photo of a bowel movement that can determine if you have colorectal cancer. Getting answers is key. There are sophisticated tests that are the only way you can be diagnosed with the disease. People are often very concerned because they'll see that they have some of the same symptoms that someone who has colorectal cancer experienced. It is important to remember that the symptoms that people who are diagnosed with colorectal cancer often experience, are also the exact same symptoms that people experience who are diagnosed with a number of other gastrointestinal conditions. And sometimes, the symptoms are caused by environmental factors, such as diet or exercise or medication, and the patient does not have a disease at all, their symptoms were caused by an external factor.
Good luck at the doctor!!! Let us know what you find out.
Thanks ... Tom
I was experiencing blood in stool and passing mucus about 6 weeks ago only I was constipated. After I finally had a bm with the help of a lot of laxatives did the mucus and blood start. Sometimes it would only be mucus. I had a lot of pain and pressure down there as well as very gassy. I bought an over the counter fit test that came out positive so things were set in motion pretty quickly and I was able to have a colonoscopy 2 weeks ago and everything with ok besides internal hemorrhoids and I was diagnosed with IBS-C and put on linzess. I was very worried and stressed so I came here for support. I would recommend making an appointment with your doctor to make sure it's not something like chrons or ulcerative colitis. I know probiotics can sometimes help with constipation and or diarrhea. I also drank pure aloe vera juice and it helped to soothe My digestive system. Just like you cancer was the only thing that came to mind and in the end everything was ok.
update?
