Can you get a home testing kit (FIT) for bowel/colorectol cancer,

FIT test
Hi Pollyanne18,
Thanks for posting on Colon Cancer Connected. The answer is yes, there are home FIT kits but I believe you have to send in the sample for analysis and results. I don't know of a completely 'home' kit. One of them is Cologuard that I am familiar with. They are kits you send in a sample and it takes 2-5 days to get results.
It also brings up another question ... If you are experiencing some signs you feel should be checked out, I would consider going to your GP or a clinic to have this done. FIT tests look for blood in a stool sample. The home kits are good, but by all means not the most comprehensive way to get answers you may be needing. If the results are positive, there can be many reasons for that and that should lead to further testing.
Please consider that route. I do wish you the very best.👍🧡🤟
