Greetings all. I want to give a brief summary of my issues. In 2020, I tested positive when I took the Cologuard test. I haven't started noticing the issue with my stool until late 2021. In the Spring of this year I met with the Gastro Doc. Because the blood in my stool has been more frequent. I explained the pain in my front lower right quadrant and also showed pics of my stool to him. He said I needed a coloscopy and for the pain they can schedule at CT scan. I had Hysterotomy in 2012 and my right ovary had always given me fits so I always thought it was that. My first appointment was scheduled in June on a Monday. The Friday before I felt a little congested so I had to reschedule - to AUGUST! Nothing was available in July - I was like man really?!
So, lets take prep. They originally gave me Sutabs and I took one look at those pills and I was like NO WAY so the Doc prescribed Plenvu. I want to make sure that I am totally cleared out for this procedure. I got my fluids and broth ready to go. I have been drinking 64 to 80oz of water a day and I want to get this done! My personal fear is being under anesthesia and of course my main fear is the results. But here's my question:
My appointment is at 8:20a I am to arrive at 7:20a. I was told to start taking the 2nd prep 5 hours before. So, that means start at 3:20a? or at 2:20a?
Thanks!

Thanks for posting on Colon Cancer Connected. I'm really glad you're getting this done. It will definitely go a long way to getting you some answers. And please don't fear the results. You're at a place you need information and this will get it for you. Be positive!!!!👍🙏🤟
FYI ... I've gotten many colonoscopies. I get one annually as a part of my surveillance protocol. I also get an annual CT scan annually. Everyone handles the anesthesia a little differently. For me, it is the most relaxing restful sleep I have ever had. I hate to say this, but I actually look forward to it. I recover from it nicely and quickly. The best feeling is when you actually go under. You kind of have to experience it to get your own data on how you deal with it. If you are not sensitive to any other medications or have issues like that, you shouldn't have a problem.
Prep stuff ... All of them work the same. I do something Suprep. On the day of the procedure, I move things up 1 hour from their recommendation time. This way, I find the urgency to "go" has calmed down and I can make my way to the procedure place. This works for me and I have about a 20 minute drive. How long is your drive?
I would take the first dose the day before around 5:00 pm so you will be ready to sleep at least 4-5 hours before you have to get up . You have a 7:20 am arrival time. I would suggest you start at 2:00 am. About 5 hours before you have to roll and 6 hours before the actual procedure. I always found is best to not have to hastily find bathrooms at the place. It makes it more of a casual thing.
Also, nothing red. But you can add for flavor enhancement. I will add some Gatorade Lime drink to the mix to make it more tolerable. Just keep it on the clear side and nothing purple or red.
I'm proud of you getting this done. I do wish you the very best in the procedure and the results. Enjoy the very best hour of rest and sleep. And please let us know how it turns out.
Good luck and Thank You,
