Has this happened to anyone ?

I figured I’d post on here to maybe ease my mind . Back in 2020 I start having blood in my stool . They sent me for an emergency colonoscopy and endoscopy. Which both came back negative but I was positive for “microscopic colitis “ and hemorrhoids. Here the bleeding wouldn’t stop it consistently went on for nine months straight so they sent me for another colonoscopy in may came back with the same results. My bleeding had went away for 9 months after that colonoscopy an now it’s back again. I don’t understand can hemorrhoids actually cause blood inside the stool not just on it . Because I have bloody mucus inside of my stool a lot an sometimes it’s on it or just in the toilet . Sometimes it’s bright red sometimes it’s doctor. I have a bit of health anxiety an convinced that missed colon cancer twice on the colonoscopy. I just turned 27 in January. Im just exhausted with this problem not being resolved an they told me microscopic colitis does not cause bleeding. That there was absolutely no blood coming from the colon no ulcers no polyps nothing

Hi Danielle, I know you must be really worried. You have age on your side and had colonoscopies. I too suffer haemorrhoids which can bleed for a while. Mine are internal and the anusol suppositories are the best. Though I am reluctant to use them because of constipation which I get and they seem to make it worse. The trouble is I suffer health anxiety which can easily be causing your trouble. I think you need to see a Gastroenterologist, will your doc refer you. I would speak to your doctor again. Sorry I cannot be more help.

I actually see a GI doctor that’s who did my last colonoscopy. They told me my bleeding is from hemorrhoids that they seen on my last colonoscopy. I just an confused on can internal hemorrhoids actually cause bleeding like inside of the stool? Because the blood is in an on the stool sometimes. Sometimes my blood is bright an sometimes the blood is dark. I have a follow up with my doctor next week. I doubt they will do anymore colonoscopys being that I had two in literally a year an half . What kind of suppositories do you use ?

Hi Danielle. Are you in the UK. Did they tell you where your haemorrhoids are. I hope this photo is allowed as it may be called advertising. They are good though. Did stop mine quite quickly. You can buy them over the counter. It seems with clear colonoscopies a mystery. Must be the haemorrhoids but I am not a doctor and if it carries on you must get some answers. They are quite easy to use and are not as big as they look in this photo. I hope you get some answers.

Hi Danielle, I don't know much but from my limited experience they tend not to suspect cancer if there are no polyps as this is how cancer usually starts (an odd polyp, not any old polyp). I don't know if stools can pick up internal blood from haemorrhoids, this is soemthing you could ask your gastroenterologist. I would guess it could be hard to tell. Whatever happens nag them to do another colon camera in a couple of years whatever they say now. I had checks about every 5-10 years with no outcomes, then I started growing more polyps in my 60s, they found one dodgy one so now are checking more regularly. OK so far, fingers crossed. Good luck!

Nope no polys or abnormalities found at all either colonoscopys. But me with my health anxiety I’m scared they missed something . I have microscopic colitis. Which doesn’t cause bleeding it can only be seen under a microscope so I think they will Probly be giving me one every five years . An I just turned 27 in January so they were super hesitant about giving me two colonoscopys in less then one year

I’m having the exact same problem. The blood is exactly like yours. 😞 I’ve been to the doctors for various things in the last month. I was worried they wouldn’t believe me about the blood in then stool as I’ve been with so many cancers in the last month. I took pictures of proof everytime there was blood which is everyday nearly. Done a fit test and blood test waiting on results.

Prior to this I was extremely depressed and anxious for a month before the bleeding due to other health anxiety concerns. I wonder if stress can actually cause this bleeding. As a lot of people who have health anxiety mostly have blood when they poo it’s the not knowing that’s driving me crazy!! My gp Said if fit test and bloods are okay then no more tests are needed I’m pushing for a colonoscopy either way. I’m also pregnant. Rectal exam found no hemmroids or fissures. I really hope you get answers. But you’ve had 2 colonoscopies I bet your 100% okay. It’s such a small chance they’d miss anything on one but 2 that would be very very rare. But I know how my health anxiety works your mind is only at ease for a day at most then it’s back to the worrying. I’m not saying you have health anxiety but sometimes the constant worry takes over your entire life and it’s the only thing you think about.

Maybe your colitis has flared up at this point and time. May have been microscopic when you were last seen but maybe the stress has made it worse. I’d maybe keep a journal as it will help you quote stuff/trends to the doctor when you next go back. Just be persistent.

Hi Danielle, I was just googling "blood in stool" and came across your post, sadly but thank you. I have also been recently diagnosed with collagenous colitis and was put on a round of Cortiment to stop the diarrhea. It has helped with that but I have now found blood in my stool, the first time I made appointments with my GI and GP and they both didnt have much to say. Again tonight blood in the stool so I will contact them in the morning, if they have anything useful to say I will be in touch. Agreed it is extremely stressful as Im sure this isnt normal, well maybe in this forum. I hope your situation has changed for the better.
