I have external hemorrhoids that are not inflamed right now. But I also have internal hemorrhoids. Well I switched my diet up to just fish, vegetables and fruits. Within the past 5 days I have only eaten pairs, salmon, eggs, brown rice, and toast. I do experience mild bright red blood from time to time from the hemorrhoids and also have constipation about once a week. Today I went to the bathroom and noticed this dark color mixed in my stool. I can not tell if this is black blood or a greenish color? What exactly could this be? I’m 6’2, smoke weed daily, I’m active, weigh 190 lbs and have never had severe health problems. Any insight is appreciated thank you

Hi Martin3488,
Thank you for posting in Colon Cancer Connected. I'm sorry that these symptoms are causing you concerns.
Based on you seeking more information, this is obviously something new going on. From the picture, it's hard to tell if that's black blood or greenish in color. If that is blood, there are many causes for blood in the stool, some are very treatable with medication, diet change, and minor procedures, and of course, there are more serious reasons for blood in the stool as well. For that reason, we always advise patients to seek medical care when they have blood in the stool.
You made a diet change and that may turn out be helpful. I know you're looking for peace of mind and there are several simple tests out there that will give you more information. You mentioned the hemorrhoid issues are known. It would be advantageous to consult your doctor to get some answers.
Stay positive. Check in with your doctor and get some answers. And please keep us informed on what you find out. I can be very helpful to others.👍
