Internal Piles

I have had minimal amounts of bleeding over last month and been referred albeit won’t be for a while. Doc thinks it’s internal Piles although couldn’t feel them. Got given Suppository which for a week had no blood had to stop it a day early as felt pain and started itching which hadn’t done before and causing discomfort. 3 days later I have had most blood I have seen in stool. Always seems on mucus and small amounts, now on ointment with applicator for a week. Wondered if anyone else had anything similar etc with internal piles and what worked or what didn’t? Have had constipation but that’s majorly improved and softer stools but still can’t rid the blood.

Hi Daveo1410 ,Thanks for posting and I'm sorry for what you are experiencing.

Did you see a primary care doctor or a Gastroenterologist?

There are so many possible reasons for blood, pain, itchy, mucus and discomfort - but the only way to know for certain what is going on (as well as to rule out anything more serious), you'll need to see a Gastroenterologist.

Please contact your doctor so you can continue the process of tests and getting some answers.

We're here for you.

I have seen a local GP they did a blood test which was normal. Due to my age (37) didn’t do a stool test so I did my own 3/4 times which was normal. I have an appointment privately with Colorectal Specialist next month. Blood which started in sept once and then twice in Oct is always so small and always on mucus. Constipation has eased now completely over last month so hoping it’s internal piles which are struggling to heal

Hi Daveo1410 ,Really glad to hear you have an appointment with a specialist coming up.

Please keep us posted and do continue to keep track of bowel habits so your doctor can have all the facts, too.

Good luck!

Got my appointment next Thursday. After this picture I was given ointment and haven’t had any bleeding now in over 4 weeks. Annoyingly though now have half formed half mushy stools that are intermittent with normal stools.

I think so long no bleed, whatever form of stools I think it’s normal. My stools are not good as well in terms of forms
