Hi Nina. I haven’t been to the doctor yet but i have experienced the same thing just recently. It started years back with just abdominal cramps and it has recently developed into irritation that requires me to pass gas before it subsides and most importantly blood in my poo. I notice also that i visit the toilet a little more to do poo than normal. After passing poo i feel a little light headed and dizzy.

Hi Chelani.. I went initially to the docs back in jan as noticed this weird white mucus with stools. And a little blood but not everytime. Blood and stool sample clear. Strangely since the lockdown in March the blood on stool is very little and when I wipe.its bright red. Sometimes accompanied with the mucus . Sometimes I just pass gas and it produces the blood . I have no pain and stools arnt diarrhoea at all. I have a lower back ache which seems to always be there. So as with covid I'm reluctant to run to docs and researching it myself. It points to the internal heamorroids but even with increasing water, fibre there is always this blood. Yet my symptoms dont seem to fall into any other problem . Its strange

Hello, I have the same issue. I had a colonoscopy done a few years ago due to bleeding. Therefore, when I have this issue, I know what is causing them. But, I have been in your shoes and it freaked me out as well! I have also experienced times where I had terrible gas, and I would just pass some mucous or mucous with a little bit of blood. I think pretty much anything can irritate them! My GI doctor did the rectal exam and couldn’t feel them, because mine are internal, but he saw them when he did my colonoscopy. I even got some cute little photos! My husband asked my doctor point blank if that was what was causing the bleeding, and he said yes, absolutely. Mine were grade 2, meaning they protrude out during a bowel movement, but they go back in on their own. He told me to use benefiber twice a day, so I use that. Metamucil is good also. My diet is so so, but so many of the healthy foods increase gas, so you have to incorporate more fiber slowly. That is what I am trying to do now as well. But the benefiber is tasteless so I just add it to my coffee every morning. I usually only take it once per day and I will try to eat some fruits and vegetables throughout the day. I hope this helps ease your mind a little bit. But, only a colonoscopy can diagnose them. As far as bleeding, mine is sporadic, and I can go a few months and not see anything and then they will slightly bleed and it may happen a few times over a few weeks. He told me I could have the banding procedure done, but mine don’t bleed enough to warrant a surgery. I also try to keep track of my food - kind of like a food diary. If I take my benefiber in the morning, I have found that I don’t get gas as bad at night for some reason. I was getting bad gas - only at night - for a period of a few weeks. So that is partly why I keep a food diary - just to kind of see what foods were triggering it. I hope I have helped answer your questions.

Thankyou so much . I never have pain ,cramps narrow stools etc so.im trying to think positive just the bleeding and mucus most bms but less on the softer stools. Sometimes I can sit on the toilet and pass some bad gas and then a little blood will occur when wiping so wondering if it just irritates them . I have a ironing business that I started in nov so wondering if the standing firm hours on end has caused them to enlarge fro that. I'm have bought fibrogyl to add fibre as def dont eat enough except cereals and some fruit. But trying to increase water too. I feel a little reassured from what u said so thankyou. Just pray it is. I will speak to docs but in a situation on lokck down with my daughter so cant drag her to doctors to.

Yeah, I get the wind/mucous - all of it, lol. I am a teacher, and on my feet all day, but I have been home since a March 13. I don’t know if being on your feet causes them to act up, or if sitting on your rear - like I have been doing - causes them to act up??? I think they just have a mind of their own! My bowel movements are generally on the softer side, but I think everyone strains from time to time without realizing it. Also, I think the longer/bigger bowel movements can cause them just as well. My doctor did tell me to not spend a long time on the toilet when I go, lol. I never did that anyway, though.

Yes, every morning generally. There was a time where I wasn’t using it, and my eating habits were terrible over the Christmas holidays. I started trying to eat better - salads, veggies, cut out processed foods basically - at the end of December/first part of January, and I had a stool with blood streaks on January 4. I think the “roughage” of eating better foods, such as salads, irritates them as well. I got off track with eating and went back to my processed junk, and saw no more blood until April 23 - on a tiny piece of stool, and I had been straining. I started using my benefiber again that day, but I did see a tiny bit of blood/ mucous last Friday again on my second bowel movements. So, I am trying to eat better again - which seems to be the story of my life, lol! I could also feel my internal hemmies protruding the past few days, but mine are grade 2 which means they go back in on their own. My doctor said to use the benefiber twice a day, and it’s tasteless so I have put it in orange juice and everything. Just don’t put it in a soda!
