Blood in stool

Past few days I’ve had blood in my stool, I’m not having any other symptoms, it’s kind of hard to poop because it’s broken up in my rectum , I’m wondering if it’s a hemorrhoid? I have gone to the doctor he thinks it’s a hemorrhoid , I did go for a blood test still waiting on report, my only concern is I hope it’s not a cancer!

Thanks for posting and sorry to read about your concerns.

Are you of colon cancer screening age? Typically that's around age 45 (new guidelines say 45 for average-risk individuals, instead of 50).

Did the doctor do a digital (exam with their hands) on your anus/rectal area?

Do your best not to let your anxiety run wild - it will increase symptoms because our GI systems are heavily impacted by stress. (I know, easy advice to tell someone not to worry!)

The best thing you can do now is to keep following through to ensure you are getting checked out until there's an answer for your symptoms. Thankfully it sounds like you are not having any issues getting an appointment, which has been very hard for many to do around the world with COVID-19.

There are so many possible reasons for your symptoms, anything from being cause by diet, medications, etc. to chronic conditions. We also hope it is not colorectal cancer - do your best to take notes in the doctors appointments and also come to the appointments with any questions you may have.

I was sick with a swollen tonsil the week week before but now that has heal during that time I has drinking mostly tea and spicy soups , I also had some pills but I did not help
