My poop has specs of red

I ate watermelon yesterday and this morning when I went to poop, I observed a couple of red specs in it. Is it normal? I just had hemorrhoids a few weeks back and this made me worries.

Hi geanpaulo,

Thanks for posting and sorry to read about your concerns. Did you see a doctor for the hemmroids a few weeks ago? Were you having any blood on the tissue or in the toilet a few weeks ago?

There are so many reasons why you could have either blood in the stool or something seeming "off" about the stool - but the only way to truly know is to see a medical professional.

If you don't already have a gastroenterologist you may need to start off by seeing your primary care doctor.

It is worth it to put a call into either your primary care (or if you have a GI doctor, start with them) and see if they would like to do any follow up tests.

If something seems "off" with your body, it is important to get it checked out.

Please keep us posted and we're here for you
