My best friend has lymphoma and is losing all her hair after her first treatment. I did not lose hair during my breast cancer (radiation) or with CLL treatment. Is there a good resource with ideas of where to get stylish head scarves, kinds of hair cuts etc. that you would recommend?

Hair loss (woman) during chemo ideas

My sister in-law just went through chemo with Hodgkins Lymphoma. She bought several head scarves I believe on Amazon. She hated wearing wigs.
I had Sarcoma of Uterus along with CLL. During chemo, I lost all my hair. However, within six months after, I had decent growth. Now after 1 year, it is now thick and full. I used normal scarf only while going out. Didn’t care about anything
I was treated for Waldenstroms Macroglobulemia with Dexamethasone, Rituximab and Bendamustine and I too lost every piece of hair. I was NOT comfy with wigs. For me...they were very hot and very itchy. I wore baseball hats, BUT, there were 4 sites that offered chemo headwear that I did use. Cardani, Hats for Healing, Temu also sells chemo headwear along with Amazon. We need some head coverings that can make us feel good about ourselves. Hope this is helpful. Take care.
I had chemo 2 years ago and when my hair started falling out in clumps I first had a Pixie cut cut fairly close to scalp then a few weeks later a close shave. I found the only wigs worth buying were too expensive so voted for a hatI found some really nice ones I'm the hospitals chemo dept shop and soon got used to wearing it.In the Winter you could opt for a Beanie which are fashionable at the moment. I tried Amazon but most had to come from China and take weeks
.
a couple of thoughts:
the hospital where she is being treated (gift shop) I just picked up a scarf the other day when I was at the hospital for an appointment
I lost a lot of hair with methotrexate but not all of it....I postponed dealing with it and felt pretty bad.....eventually my retired stylist cut it for me and it has been much better since then
I got a really warm winter hat that I wear outdoors, in warmer weather I wore a lot of baseball caps, but for vanity's sake I am going to try more scarves.....with spring coming...
good luck to your friend.
A friend of mine wears yoga caps bought online, and a much bigger range than the specific cancer suppliers.

My understanding is that hajibs made of modal are easier to wear than other fibers. They come in a huge range of colors. Or any scarf made of modal, instead of silk or cotton or whatnot.
I would not recommend wearing a hijab in a small, racist community. But in a cosmopolitan area, one wouldn't automatically think "hair loss from cancer" seeing a woman wearing one. Especially wearing a hat on top of it in winter. With the built-in scarf, some may not even realize it's a hajib since there are a number of winter hat/scarf combos.
Watch some episodes of 911-LoneStar, especially the ending episodes of the most recent season. One character wears a hajib for religious reasons, and illustrates how beautiful one can be wearing one. Another is a cancer patient concerned with her long, thick hair coming out; the patterned ones she wears also look great.
I used to wear a wig skiing, before helmets were a thing, A high quality one is pretty comfortable for 4-6 hours at a time. I also had a high-end hair extension clip I used to wear at work when I traveled a lot. Super easy to pull my hair back, attach the hair clip, and look polished/professional in just a few minutes.
