Having read some posts yesterday I saw that Omega 3 is not good for CLL patients. I took green tea and Omega 3 thinking they would be good for me but after reading a post from Neil I stopped green tea and now I think I need to stop Omega 3. Am I right in thinking this.

Green tea and Omega 3
First talk to your doctor, explain what you were taking them for (how much were you taking and for how long).
I like a cool green tea in the summer, but I'm not drinking it for the health (minus the lower caffeine levels). The few I may have over the summer hardly would constitute a medical issue. I'm not treating it like a drug, that if I dose properly will do X, Y, or Z.
A lot of these items are not forbidden, they just need moderation, and good communication with your doctor especially if you're doing this as any type of medical adjunctive. 🙂
Not doing it as a medical adjunctive. Just thought I was being healthy with both the green tea and the Omega 3.
If you look at the study results for fish oil supplements, they were only found to be beneficial in certain circumstances. Even so, I would be very wary about taking them when you have low platelets or are in treatment, particularly with BTKis. Even our very knowledgeable Cllcanada got caught out during his CLL treatment, wondering why he suddenly developed black eyes, until he realised it was due to the fish oil he was taking.
With respect to green tea, you'd be unlikely to drink enough for potential risks (e. g. liver damage) to outweigh any advantages. However, even here, you shouldn't drink it close to anything you take to boost your iron reserves to hopefully help with anaemia. That's because tea binds with iron, preventing absorption.

Are you referring to supplements? High doses of both of these, in supplement form, can have negative effects. If you are referring to the actual foods, the amounts ingested generally are much lower.
Concentrated green tea supplement may affect one's liver, the omega three's may affect platelets. I personally put a small amount of Green Tea Extract (about 700mg of Camellia Sinensis, not any of the individual components) in my daily breakfast shake, because my partner wants to & I mix both of ours in a single blender container. I used to put in 5ml of Omega 3 fish oil up until the CLL diagnosis. My CLL variant tends to depress my platelets, and so I now just get Omega 3 from food.
Whether or not the amount you are ingesting may be "too much" is something to discuss with a doc (or your chemist).
with BTKI, told to avoid Omega 3 - increased blood thinning & platelet issues. Green tea never advised but use.
I take Omega-3 and my CLL doc is aware of it and hasn’t had an issue with it. (They review my meds and supplements at every visit.)
