Day +14:
I am presently unhooked from my medication pole. It is a great feeling to be able to be more mobile around my “suite”. Accommodations here quite nice considering what most hospital rooms are like. it has been a rough go with a certain amount of nausea, lack of energy, and G.I. situations.
However, change in medication‘s, taking me off of any other things like steroids. Have me feeling a lot better. Still, all of the changes were due to concerns with kidney function and liver.
To be well enough to leave here I need to reach certain benchmarks. For example, ANC I was at1100 on day+1 by day +4 it was at zero and still is ( I need to be at 500 to be discharged) ; my platelets were at 1:34 and they got to two and day +12(infused platelets are helping that situation), up to a 6 as of today.
This will give you an idea of how far I have to go before I get discharged. And even then there’ll be a lot of medication’s in specific care necessary at home. However, all the doctors say, I’m doing great and these things are to be expected. So, onward and upward, we keep chugging forward. I have every confidence this BMT is going to work out.
Thank you to everyone for your comments, support and care.
