Side effects are different for everyone. I had headaches from the very start but coffee took care of those. I have low platelets and also have petechia on my forearms and and legs from time to time plus blood like blisters in my mouth occasionally but none of this an issue. I do bruise easily due to the low platelets so it is hard to say for sure the true cause but as I said they are all non issues and I have been on Calquence for going on 4 years and it is keeping me in a good place. I do receive IVIG every 4 weeks as my previous treatments did a number on my immune system. But that was before all these new meds were available. I am going on 36 years so I feel very fortunate!

We must always remember and any medicine has trade offs so we must learn to work things out on an individual basis.

I wish you only the very very best on this journey you find yourself on. This is a great and very caring community!!!

I initially had minor GI issues for a week, however no headache or anything else. Compared to other treatments I have read about this fits the term slow and steady. No other issues after four + years

Drink a cup of coffee- this helps and soon the headaches will subside and won't come as often

I’ve been on calquence for just over a year, my biggest issues is joint pain, I never had headaches or GI issues, I do experience some hair loss, but I’m not sure if it’s related to calquence, or something else. Otherwise, I feel good. I wish you all the best.

I have been on Calquence since January when diagnosed with SLL. Headaches are pretty common, but coffee will help a lot and they won’t last for long. Within the last 6 weeks or so I have had blood type blisters in my mouth on my tonsils but only the first one was painful which was why I looked. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have noticed. It didn’t last long. Something else I recently noticed are red splotches on my face that go away within a day or so. Again, not painful. So far, those are the only reactions I have to it. Not much of an inconvenience for a drug that has put me in remission in just a few months. I feel great! Best of luck on this new journey. Jan
