probiotics
Hi I am on ibrutinib and take probiotics with no problems. My specialist is happy for me to take them.
Ann
They are recommended to be taken after courses of antibiotics where I live. That would be understandable as antibiotics are known to kill off the gut flora. The good bacteria along with the bad. Other than that I don't see a reason why they should be taken regularly.
I been taking probiotics when I was CLL W&W and during treatment. No issue for me .
I think it makes perfect sense. You're gut will need replenishing of the good bacteria following the side effects of the antibiotics. I don't think enough people realise the importance of this to reaching a good overall health.
My CLL specialist recommended without hesitation when I was experiencing GI issues.
Bonjour
It dépends how how immunocompromised you are
"Although probiotic supplements are safe to use in healthy individuals, they can potentially
become pathogenic and cause infections in immunocompromised patients. Many patients
receiving chemotherapy drugs have weakened immune systems because of chemotherapyinduced leukopenias and as such, NHP supplements are generally NOT recommended for
patients undergoing treatment with cancer medications."
