Shingrix Second Dose

MovingForward4423 profile image

l had my second jab on Thursday. Side affects are not as bad as the first, but I spent most of the night awake with shivers, aches and a horrible headache. Better today (Friday) but I feel cold and aches. That vaccine generates a good immune response.

My second was better than the first from the point of view of swollen, sore, hot, itchy arm (it did come up but sooner and not as extreme as the first time - still slightly itchy ten days later but nothing else left), did have to take paracetamol once for headache, did have one dizzy spell, one faint spell and one shivering spell next day. I was dreading the second vaccination after the first, but was pleasantly surprised!

Having a big reaction to the second shot is common. I ran a fever on and off for 3 days after Shingrix #2. My oncologist said, "that's great! It means your immune system is working"
