I had my 6th booster COVID vaccination , Pfizer bivalent version just over a week ago (8 days ago). I was fine in the days that followed, just a soar arm. However today, I am off colour, slightly raised temperature (37.3 my normal is 36.2), have the shakes, feeling cold, coughing up a little yellow mucus, sat down watching the TV under a blanket.
I am still shielding and haven't been anywhere, however, saw my mother for the first time yesterday in her house in 2 3/4 years. My mother was well and had no signs of COVID.
I have done a COVID test this morning, which was negative, no surprise there!
I was wondering if this could be a delayed reaction to the vaccination?

How did you get to your mothers? Has she had any visitors/visited others recently, does she go out and about unmasked? Has she been out to a retailer or other business (hair dresser, doctor, etc. ) the past few days? Does she own a bird, or feed them/interact with them outside? The time gap makes me wonder if this is an unrelated respiratory illness, and not related to the vaccine.
She's 98 so dosen't go out a lot. I made sure her last visit to the supermarket was about 5 days ago, We drove ourselves to her house. Temperature did go up to 99 this afternoon but have bought it down a degree with cold flannels on the head and paracetamol. No birds. She seamed healthy at the time of the visit.
I do feel the onset of COVID is unlikely in just a day, but who knows with a compromised patient!
Well, flu and RSV and other respiratory viruses are going around everywhere. Was everyone masking at the place you got the Covid vaccine, could you possibly have picked something up there? Were you at a busy center, were you wearing gloves when opening doors/pushing elevator buttons?
Wondering about your bird comment. I have a parrot now going on almost 29 years (was gotten for bird-obsessed son when young, but of course been mine for years since he left home). Is there something about being around bird one should watch for?

I had the bivalente Pfizer vax yesterday, it’s my 5 covid shot so far. For the first time, I didn’t have a temperature during the night. I feel very tired and sore at the site of the vaccination but no temperature. It’s very strange to have a reaction 8 days after the procedure. I would think it’s probably something else…. Keep us posted… 🙏
Antibiotics normally do nothing for any of the viruses and I wouldn't worry now where you might have picked it up. Try your best not to pass it on and do all you can to feel better! Some of the viruses are just as contagious as covid and show ( extremely similar) symptoms even faster. It is entirely possible to have covid and not test positive, so naming this thing is less helpful than getting over it. Lots of hydration and rest and personally, I think healthy food and sunshine.
