I know there’s been a lot of conversation on the efficacy of the Covid Vaccines for people with CLL. Which I am not discussing. It seems getting the Vaccine will allow you to travel in the future. Just read the Australian Government are thinking about some type of vaccine passport and Denmark already has. Qantas have said you’ll need one in order to fly. And I’m sure other airlines will follow. healthline.com/health-news/... Nothing new for those of us who used to travel and had to have a Yellow Fever vaccination certificate.
Currently in Australia we are not allowed to leave the country unless we have an exemption. I’ve told my family in UK 2022 🤞🤞🤞🤞

There is a lot of conspiracy chatter on some social media — shock horror!! Vaccine passports allegedly prove governments are doing bad things...
Yet you find need of vaccine evidence all over the world.. often in Africa.. International travel requires a little research — all because some countries prefer to avoid outbreak of diseases.. epidemics..
It is obvious and makes perfect sense.
It fits with how vaccines work — by achieving ‘herd immunity’ - sufficient immunity in a population that disease prevalence is so minimal that epidemics don’t happen.. just occasional instances, and rare clusters of cases.. which public health is usually able to isolate, quarantine (hospitalise or any form of restriction to their home) until the people are no longer contagious.
Sadly very many are ill educated and chatter about these things as though some form of government control.
Meanwhile, we CLL’ers with immune compromise.. well, we are more reliant upon Vaccinated herd immunity..

EE by gum you are right about previous vaccination certification - I travelled to the UK in 1965 with a Yellow Vaccination Booklet certifying I had had Smallpox, Typhoid and Cholera vaccinations before leaving - checked at the UK border before entry.
I don’t think the days of unfettered travel will be here for sometime. I understand the Vaccine won’t stop transmission much like the flu jab just make it more palatable. A Doctor friend here is talking about 2024. But there will be strict protocols in place. I’m still hoping for 2022.

I think you’ll find countries you will be flying to will have requirements. As well as international airlines. Much like when they check you have a visa.

😂😂 but in these uncertain times one never knows when you might need it. I’ve lost mine 🙄 seriously was told last year by NZ GP have all your immunisations up to date.
