Just out of interest I have just come off the phone with a very nice man at Staysure insurance.

He quoted me £1380.27 for an annual worldwide multi trip policy for both of us.

This would cover my CLL and the fact that I am being treated plus possible AFIB if it is eventually diagnosed.

For me alone it would be £747.46

I was pleasantly surprised!!

That’s good Alice, my quote for holiday in Mexico in May 2023 was for £3,216 that was for single trip, I went on compare the market and that was the only quote I got. Dave x

It was with goodtogoinsurance I searched on compare the market and they were the only one who would quote me, think it may be because I was travelling to Mexico, I also got quotes for Portugal for 1 week and it was £368.00.

Morning Dave, my quote was worldwide except cruises. Alice

Hi Alice, it may be because of my heart issues, but I still thought it was a lot of money for single trip. Dave x

Last week there was a post concerning medical travel insurance and a suggestion from a HU contributor to try CSSC - the civil service sports club. To join you have to be eligible having worked or work in the public sector BUT it’s not limited purely to that. There is a list. They offer no questions asked travel insurance for those 50-74 years of age and if you take up travel insurance before 74 the possibility to extend.

Sounds good especially as I get older.

So, money;

To be a member £4 per month.

Annual travel worldwide £295 single or £375 a couple.

£4 a month membership will get me into English Heritage Sites free, shopping meals out etc at certain places. But I just wanted no questions asked travel insurance as I get older.

Yes, I joined a bargain.

Worth a Google or even a phone call to check eligibility!

On the website there is an eligibility list and a number to call to ask any questions about eligibility. I qualified because I receive a teacher’s pension but the list is long.

Worth a phone call.

Does it cover CLL and other conditions?

No medical conditions are needed to be declared. From what I’ve read it seems that anyone can travel on the insurance as long as they’ve been told not to.So travel insurance without discrimination.

Over 50 travel is the plan type.

This looks like the solution to me, thank you, my wife works for the local council so she qualifies. Dave
