Hi Bruce,

Perhaps your doctor suspects that you've developed a secondary bacterial infection, so I hope the antibiotic helps.

I see from your profile that you were prescribed Paxlovid, which was good. I don't think many GPs know that they can prescribe this to people with CLL.

I have heard of hospitalised cases being prescribed Evusheld, even though it is not supposed to be used in this way. What does your specialist say?

Neil

I did paxlovid for 5 days and at about day 7 thought I was over it BUT just like Biden I had a rebound with milder symtoms but still nasty - constant cough nd some chills and runny nose - i keep thinking I am getting better but then goes back a step - ill speak to Dr haemotologist tomorrow

Hi Bruce, my experience is very similar, I had covid about 5 weeks ago and also had paxlovid like you, my consultant continued with calquence and I too felt ok after a week, but I can’t seem to shift a chesty cough and bunged up sinuses, and my hearing is terrible, but apart from that I’m feeling good, hopefully the antibiotics will work for you. hey Dave - re blocked ears and tubes -Im having good results using steam with tea tree drops - i breath it in both nose and mouth for about 10 mins - just pour boiling water in a jug - I am also using a sinus flow rinse where you squeeze warm salty water up your nose and it runs out to the back of your throat - make sure you boail water then let it cool to skin temp - i do this once or twice a day - this has opend up my ears - good luck

Thanks Bruce, will give anything a try at the minute, my wife said she’s sick of shouting at me to get my attention ( comes in handy sometimes though 🤣) Dave.

I have had COVID since Sunday/Monday and started Paxlovid yesterday. I hope this COVID doesn't drag on for a long time and get the impression Paxlovid is doing a good job in masking the symptoms but not actually getting rid of COVID. After Paxlovid I don't have the sweating/temperature 9n and off but still have a blocked nose though not as bad
