Local Specialist Sacramento/Roseville

Looking for local hematologist/oncologist in Roseville or Sacramento area familiar with CLL. Currently receiving care from CLL specialist at the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix. In the wait and watch status currently. Need a local doctor I can see physically on a regular basis. Reccomendations?

UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento has a national cancer center. I believe Dr. Joe Tuscano handles the CLL patients.

Dr Tait Shanafelt from Mayo clinic, moved to Stanford if you are willing to travel an hour and a half or so from Sacramento.

UCDMC Dr Joseph Tuscano was my Onc when I lived there. However as I neared treatment he didn’t think so even after I received 3 other “yes it time to treat” from renowned specialists (Dr Coutre- Stanford (now deceased) , NIH and Dr Sharman-Eugene). I left UCDMC to join a study (2015) with Dr Sharman, while still living in Sacramento. Dr T & staff we’re not willing to work together with Dr S in between treatments. I ended up moving to Oregon. I do my followups with Dr Sharman.

I see Dr. Delphine Ong and although she isn’t a “specialist” she knows her stuff. She also was great when I chose to see a Cll specialist for a second opinion and was more than willing to work with him to decide treatment.
