Get 5th (spring booster) now. I was told at my recent remote consultation that most effective 3 months after 4th jab. I had my 5th a couple of weeks ago

No doubt by Oct, we will be called for a 6th!

Hi Cartwheels,I have been of exactly the same opinion! Until my Oncologist pointed out the majority of the Covid patients hospitalised with autoimmune disorders he deals with are CLL patients at the moment.I have been putting it off because the 4th booster made me quite unwell for a few days, but I had my 5th after I spoke with him.True to form it made me feel unwell for the next 2 days but then absolutely ok!

Thanks for the input not really suffered other then my 1st and 2nd jabs so not really concerned about side effects just efficiency and will it stop me getting my winter one around mid October which I see as more important

I’ve just had my 5th and have been ok apart from a very sore muscle for a few days and added fatigue. I agonised a bit over having it but as Covid is so rampant at the moment and it’s badly impacting the lungs this time, I decided to have it. I’ve also had a survived Covid at Christmas.

Thank you Newdawn ,the other matter that concerns me is if I have my 5th now ,when will my winter booster be ? I always like my flu , covid jab around mid October for best effect

I am having everything I can. I had my 5th in May. They usually say a gap of 3 months is needed. I would leave a couple of weeks before or after for the flu jab but I will ask my consultant. I am glad you have mentioned the flu jab.Are you up to date with other vaccinations? We went to Asia in 2014 and I had the childhood ones boosted. We are supposed to have the pneumonia boosted every 5 years. I had to get a letter from my consultant for the GP.

Sorry to go on if you have had these jabs. Polio has been found in the waste water in London. It is a live virus in the childhood sugar lumps we had as kids. They think it has come from abroad because the system is different now in the uk. I am glad I had a top up.

I keep meaning to be tested for antibodies but if it comes back negative I would rather not know. I have a mask in my pocket and use if in enclosed spaces or in a risky situation. I am still careful with handwashing and gel. I cant give up on any more of my life and grandchildren soon grow up. Anne uk

I had my 5th jab 16 weeks after the 4th one. That was when I got the text from the NHS to say I could book. Never had any problems with previous ones but this one (half Moderna) left me with a painful arm for 36hrs and then it was gone. I`ll be there in Sept as well if it`s advised. One nurse once said to me you can never have too many vaccinations. I`ll take what`s offered these days; cant be too careful.

Good luck.......you`ll be fine.

Had my 5th last week. I could not see a good reason not to have it so went ahead. With rising cases at the moment I wanted to give myself as best chance as possible if I do catch Covid. I am not sure if there is any scientific basis for this but went for Moderna this time after 2xAZ and 2xPfizer. I just thought a mix of vaccines might produce a better antibody response. I checked what the vaccine centres near me were offering and went for the one with Moderna. I had no side effects at all for the first 4 but had chills and fatigue for about 24 hours and a very sore arm for this one, but no big deal.

I am assuming, maybe naïvely, that we will be called early when they start the Autumn booster program so October should be feasible.

Yes, get it done - I had my 5th a couple of weeks ago... the response drops over time, and we'll probably all get offered another jab, maybe along the flu one, come the autumn/winter.

I had my 5th in early May. I had a bad reaction to the 4th but only a sore arm with the 5th. The 5tb was Moderna. With Omicron cases going up again I wonder whether I should start restricting my social activities again, like leaving the gym. I only go at relatively quiet times. So far I have not had COVID

I would take all vaccinations I qualify for..... my next shots should be a second round of Evusheld in September.

Question of the day!!!! I've had 5 jabs, 4 with pfizer with NO response followed by a full dose of Moderna with a mediocre response. CLL itself and treatment with a CD 20 inhibitormake for poor response to vaccine and Covid.

I'm going to wait til fall for the Moderna Omicron for jab #6, before starting up CLL treatments again. Hoping the CD20 inhibitor effect from prior chemo has resolved and that I get a response to jab 6.

Relying on Evusheld for now.

Good luck
