Who has had a full dose series of 3 Moderna plus a Moderna booster? If so, any side effects or concerns? Had my 3rd moderna nearly 5 months ago; hoping to get my booster. Any insight would be appreciated.

Booster-as 4th shot
I have just had a frustrating few days trying to figure this out myself! I finally got to see the pharmacist at Safeway who gave me my Moderna “booster” in August because I was concerned that I hadn’t had my third full shot. Neither my GP or my hen/onc could give me good any helpful information at the time, or tell me now if I should have another full shot or a booster. This kind woman remembered me, looked up my records, and said she gave me a full shot in August! Apparently at the time boosters weren’t actually approved for anyone except the immunocompromised and the full shot is what was being given to everyone. I’m so relieved!! I asked when I could have my actual booster and she didn’t know the protocol - but said she would find out and call me. Incidently, I heard that the Pfizer booster is a full dose, while Moderna is a half. I had no side effects from any of the three with the exception of a very sore and itchy arm. I am so glad that at least I have a pharmacist looking out for me as the doctors all seem very confused and calling the third shot a booster makes it even more confusing.
Im in uk and I have had tw pfzier as 3rd and 4th jabs (full doses) I had a bit of a headache and had a lazy day or two with both but nothing more
Hi Maga:
I live in Florida, USA and I had my three Moderna vaccines but I am having problems getting the booster. Apparently the pharmacist don’t know anything about it. Also they told me that they aren’t authorized to give more than three vaccines to a person. According to them I have to wait until the CDC approves the booster for people with cancer, etc.
I don’t know what to do.
Hi ElMaga - I finally did get the booster. I went to the hospital where I had had my first 3 Pfizers to get the booster on the recommendation of my hematologist- who is on the staff at that hospital - and was told by the doctor on call when the tech questioned it that I couldn’t have a 4th shot because it’s not authorized. I left a message for my hematologist and showed printouts of my “negative” responses from the first 3 shots (which I always carry) and said that the shot I had in August was especially for immunocompromised and was not a booster. After going several management levels up, they agreed to give me the shot.
My hematologist said to get the booster because it might give me some protection in the current surges even though I’ve been negative for the previous shots.
