Rib Pain associated with CLL or Ibrutinib therapy?

I am experiencing pain in my rib cage which has persisted for about 3 weeks. It was localized at first but seems more diffuse now. I am 88 years of age and been treated with Imbruvica 140mg/day for 3 years with good blood results. Anemia gone, white count improving and platelets improving but low. I'm curious whether my pain is somehow associated with CLL or its treatment.

Joint pain is one of the recognised side effects of ibrutinib, but the incidence of non cardiovascular side effects decreases over time. So it seems unlikely.

Hi Desti,I have been taking the same dosage as you and have also been taking imbruvica for 3 years. I have occasional spasms between my ribs. My guess is that mine is from my medication. You should definitely mention it to your doctor during your next visit.

Definitely get a CT scan with contrast. Do not accept an X-ray.

I've been getting a lot of rib pain recently, and I'm not on imbruvica. Almost two years finished chemo, and seem to be getting more and more bone pain. Awaiting results of recent bloods, then consult with my haematologist. I have 3 monthly bloods and they've been good. I'm not confident I'll get a satisfactory explanation. I'm almost 73, so I'll swear if "age related" is mentioned!!
