Joint pain with CLL?

I have CLL and have been on W&W for five years. Suddenly a few weeks ago I developed severe joint pain in my hands, shoulders, elbows, and knees. Been taking Ibuprofen and that seems to help. Anyone else experience this? This was a sudden flare up andI never had on before. Am 71 and have been in reasonable health. Any input would be helpful.

Not everything is CLL related. In the meantime try Claritin without D. Discuss with GP & hematologist about ur sudden flare up. Could be related since some people do experience that pain but it could be another condition. So best to have new labs drawn & see if something else is going on. 🙏💕

Hi Mwagner - Sorry to hear of your joint pain, n GMa27 makes a good point that not necessarily everything is related to CLL.

However, with that said I just happen to get really bad hand joint pain n stiffness soon after my CLL diagnosis… maybe a coincidence?

Spoke with both my PCP & CLL docs about that and they agreed on trying a 500 mg supplement Turmeric pill daily and see if that helps .. n like magic it did. No more hand stiffness n now can grip easily my favorite poles, clubs, sticks, tools, etc.

That’s just one solution that worked for me. But suggest get checked-out with your doc(s) and see what they recommend for your case.

Thanks for your perspective! Both of you. What is weird is that I haven’t been experiencing any pain until a few weeks ago and was taking Turmeric prior to this! So it may well be unrelated to CLL. At first I couldn’t even pull the comforter over my shoulder without a lot of discomfort but, after a few days on ibuprofen I’m at about 85%. My PCP said ibuprofen is good for now to see if the flare ups stop and I’m scheduled for my hematologist in a couple weeks. Again, thanks for the feedback, it means a lot!

Sorry to hear of your pain struggles n guess the ole Turmeric try wasn’t the magic pill for your case?

Well hoping that you find a longtime solution to your pain.

I to suffer from very stiff, sore joints, muscles, tendons ....I`ve had bone scans which show arthritis in many joints but the specialist did not seem to think that my pain and discomfort was relative to just the arthritis. I`ve read that joint and bone pain is not common with CLL but it is REAL and CAN HAPPEN . I believe mine is from CLL as have terrible flare ups for no apparent reason. I was diagnosed in 2018 aged 51 years. Still on W & W.
