Do you ever look at your blood test results from the lab and feel like you are reading Latin? Or you see a result that is outside of the normal range and aren’t quite sure if you should be concerned? Join CLL Society and Dr. Susan Leclair for this free 1-hour webinar.

You will learn how to interpret your blood test results and gain a better understanding of why they are critical. Dr. Leclair will explain what information in these reports are the most important, discuss how blood results can constantly change, and provide explanations as to why.
Thank you for taking the time to post this upcoming webinar. I've listened to Dr. Susan Leclair in the past and have thoroughly enjoyed her talks. She explains things very well and l leave feeling more informed, and less confused.
I have a question.. the numbers used on either side of the pond for measuring and expressing different values in our blood test… are they different? Like the difference between metric and imperial?
I ask because I get completely lost when people discuss their results here, and there does seem to be a difference between the two countries’ interpretations.
Getting the details of my blood counts from my doctors is like pulling teeth. If I ever succeed, I’ll just post them here (not the teeth) and shout “Help me!”
Meanwhile, do you think the webinar will be helpful to this Ignoramus Britannicus? Or will it scramble my brain even more?
Hi ChristyAnne,Actually our doctors in the USA use metric system measurements but often the numbers differ from yours by 2 or 3 zeros.
The USA docs calculate in units per liter and many European medical measurements or per deci liter. Then each system has to then deal with lots of zeros, so the results are written using scientific notation. See en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sci...

I have found Dr. LeClair to have a wonderful gift of making complex science easy to understand, so would recommend that you give it a try.
Thank you, Len. I will watch the webinar, on your recommendation, but I’m a languages and art girl, and I’m pretty good at simple arithmetic. However, the Wikipedia post terrified me, so I don’t hold out much hope! 😱
