Yes, in 2015 I had high temperatures (38.6-39C+) several times while being treated with obinutuzumab. Given that I had low neutrophils I was told I had to go to the hospital's emergency clinic if that happened.

One time I was kept in over night with IV antibiotics.

Hi Hd, I had fluctuating temperatures in the first few days after starting obinutuzumab but the maximum was 38°, so I didn’t need to go to hospital. I was told if it goes above 38 then I should contact the team urgently or go to the Emergency Dept. My neutrophils got to 1.3 at the lowest but mostly were around 2, so I wasn’t too worried about my temperature.

Hope you’re okay!

Hi, I had 8 days in hospital after reacting to my first infusion. More detail can be found in my posts from March 2020. My story had a very good ending, very best wishes for yours.Michael

Hi - Yes I was in hospital for a week with blood Sepsis and high temp of 39 after starting Obin. If you are interested have a look at my profile which gives details. After that, the subsequent infusions have been absolutely fine with no reactions (Reactions are a common when starting Obin but usually only for the first or second infusion as it was for me). Lots of luck with your treatment and I hope everything settles down. Its an amazing drug.

Hi, I had fever for a week after my first Obinutuzimab treatment. It went up to 102.7F. I was already in the hospital as my doctor’s protocol is to do the first treatment there. I felt pretty yukky and was so happy when it finally went down and I could go home! I had slight fever a couple of days after the 2nd treatment, then not again.

Good luck,

NW

Everyone’s body responds differently and I know my doctor didn’t think of it as a “problem,” only a reaction, and did rule out infection as cause of fever. I’m glad I was in the hospital and was being watched (and taken care of!). Hopefully he won’t react like this in subsequent treatments and this will all be completely successful!

Hello, yes. I had my first O infusion last Wednesday and woke up the following day with a 102.8 fever. My doctor sent me to the ER and I was later admitted because they could not get my fever under control. Luckily, I was discharged the next day, but I still largely feel like I’ve been hit by a bus. My doctor assures me all is normal and some people have very strong reactions and this just means it’s working. My wbc was 239k before the first infusion and it knocked it down to 14k! I pray that you get sorted out soon and start feeling better. 🙏🏻 Jaime
