Astra Zeneca vaccines

Hello all from Adelaide Australia

Hope you’re all going ok

A query about the Astra Zeneca vaccine. How many of you have had one or two of these doses? How have you done post bac one? Have there been any concerns re clotting or anything else? What advice is your haematologist/specialist giving? Do they have preferred vaccines?

In Australia we CLLers can’t access a vaccine yet but it will be a case of take what you get, either AZ or Pfizer

Hi Shazzy57I had my 1st AZ jab 3 weeks ago after finishing 6 cycles of B&R treatment. I had no adverse effects post vaccination only a slightly sore arm where I was injected. This was only for a couple of days. I’ve not heard of anyone having complications post vaccination.

Hi shazzy Had my first dose beginning of February and apart from a sore area around vaccination area have had no adverse effects. One of my friends did feel a bit off colour the next day but no other problems.

Hope all goes well for you for the future.

We (husband and I ) both had the Astra Zeneca vaccine in February, and neither of us had any after effects at all. My sister had a day feeling ill after the same vaccine but recovered quickly.

Had my first dose on the last Friday in January & my only side affect was a slightly sore arm.

Said on another thread that stats show reports of clots etc. are pretty much the same for both the AZ & Pfizer & if anything they were slightly higher for Pfizer.

All the noise from the EU is political & they're doing very badly at rolling their vaccines & need someone to blame, so they're pointing the finger at the AZ vaccine & the Brits.

I live in London.

I had the AZ vaccine nearly 5 weeks ago , 1st jab.

Within 12 hours I had tightness & pains in my chest / difficulty breathing / pulse of over 110 / temperature of 39.2.

I dialled emergency services (first time ever).

I was admitted into hospital overnight but discharged myself the next day knowing it was side effects of the vaccine which would pass.

However I was poorly for over a week and did also get pains at the back of my left calf and thigh.

Now that I started my treatment, my Consultant told me not to have a 2 nd vaccine until I finish my V & O therapy.

Hi Shazzy. . I had the AZ mid February, slight headache for two days but nothing unmanageable. Hope that you get the offer of a vaccination soon. Best wishes.
