I all ,i started treatment august 2020 FCR, i was doing fine no problems until my 3 cycle October i seem to have a slight cough which would did not go away as time went on it got worse ,i was due to start my 4 cycle so i went to my doctors for a review before treatment i told him about the cough and he said your bloods look fine ,so i was booked in for next cycle by then it had been 2 weeks with this realy annoying cough even on the day of the cycle,i went home after the hospital and took my chemo pills for 5 days still had the cough i finished the pills five days after still had a cough which didn't get better then the next morning i completely lost taste and smell very slight temp, the top of my head was sensitive to touch so i phone the Christie hospital which they said call to the hospital and we will have a look i just felt week and still had this cough my bloods came back crp was 40 so i stayed in hospital for a week as i was in hospital i had 2 covid test which came back negative i was coughing all night and the nurses on the ward was convinced i had covid very strange i was on antibiotics a week later my cough slowly improved,,my question his 1,would the treatment fcr mask the results of the covid test,,2,is it possible i had covid a few weeks before my covid test and that is why it came back negative .... The doctor said i neutropenic sepsis ,,,, thank you

kel555, I doubt if FCR would interfere with a PCR or antigen covid test, but it certainly would likely interfere with an antibody test. Do you know which covid tests you had? It does seem possible that you had a mild case of COVID-19, and that the virus was cleared by the time the tests were run, and that your persistent cough was just a lingering symptom. Please let us know how things resolve for you.

That's probably the longest sentence I've ever read 😀👍. Congratulations to beating Covid like a pro! Tests may fail. Loss of smell and taste suggests yours did.
3years ago I had Chemo B&R and had a similar problem. I ended up in hospital for 4 days with similar symptoms as yourself. I was told the same the tests came back from the lab showing Sepsis and Neutropenia. I was later told that this wasn't common but it did occur from time to time.
