Resveratrol, Interferons and benefits in early stage CLL.

I came across a somewhat old article from 2008. The conclusions looked very promising but no idea whether anything came of this research. Anyways I went out to buy red onions and will eat them daily, just in case. Resveratrol might help fight off viral infections too. Maybe even COVID? Worth a try I think. What can one loose?

I found a 2019 study: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl...

with this among the conclusion summary:

-

Although, preclinical studies produced exciting results, nowadays many questions remain unanswered about the usage of resveratrol in the clinical setting just because the clinical evidence indicating that resveratrol is an effective therapeutic in humans are still lacking. Moreover, some official systematic clinical trials using resveratrol treatment in humans had some disappointing outcomes and the difficulties of the clinical application of resveratrol are enormous, such as its poor water solubility, bioavailability, and dosage.

-

So like many things that seem promising, converting the concept into an effective treatment is a big challenge.

I've been consuming resveratrol in tiny amounts with my (nearly) daily glass or two of red wine. It hasn't helped. However, I feel a lot better. 😀

We eat red onions almost everyday as well as garlic in or on our meals. Mainly because we like them.I took Reserveratrol for years until I found out I had Cll. It was controversal.

Onions were used in the old days for sickness. My mom was sick as a child, during the depression, with ? she never knew, however she was jaundice, her liver? She ate onions and liver every week. When they moved across town and she had to walk a long way to school she slowing became better and lived to be 96. I think it was the walking that helped her. Maybe both. She loved onion sandwiches.

I don't think red onions can do any harm. Maybe they won't help either. No way to know 😊 But I'll keep consuming them in reasonable quantities for just in case .
