Hi Chelt56. My husband started ibrutinib in February this year and like you experienced the same after about a month. He spoke to the hospital who prescribed something for him. However, by the time he got the prescription he didn't need them! and touch wood hasn't since so I think they will pass in time x take care
if you go to the imbruvica website and look at side effects you'll find this one of the most common. the severe diarrhea and cramps usually eventually pass. I;ve been on it 18 months and just have soft stools now
I had diarrhea but it ceased after the first few weeks. Hope his does as well.
Hi and Welcome Chelt, as this is your first post!
If you have not done so, call your Dr. and ask for a prescription for the diarrhea, as the longer it is tolerated, the longer it can go on for some. And it can be impossible to get out and about (as much as we are able to do so with Covid) if this is a constant.
You could also become dehydrated, even with the drinking of the amount of water you need to. So. ASK for the relief.
I do hope you are soon not having this complaint.
When my partner was on it, he had bad diarrhea and stomach cramps, so I think it's very common. He was given some anti-diarrhea tablets to take. I keep an eye on the foods you're eating as well and some could make the situation worse.
