My husband was diagnosed with CLL 2 years ago. It has been a watch and wait treatment. He recently started on the Obinutuzumab/ Venclexta treatment. His very first infusion was rough. But after that he has breezed through them! So I am writing to let people know that the first treatment is not a harbinger of things to come! The nurses said it is normally the first reaction. After 2 treatments with Obinutuzumab, his numbers have plummeted to within normal range. And his glands are all back to normal size. it is really incredible. He has not started on the Venclexta yet. The doctor is holding off for now because of his results with the infusions.

Gazyva/Venclexta
Wonderful! And I experienced the same. Finished my 9 infusions in July with no issues (normal slight first infusion allergic reaction),
Then started Venetroclax in April with no issues and will be on Venetroclax until April.
Great labs. Nice to see normal labs for first time in 10 years.
All my best

Hi gardenman68,

Welcome to the club (CLL) that no one likes to join, a few years ago. I see you joined our group a few weeks back and this is your first post- great!

The good news you are sharing about your husband's treatments so far, is great to hear and very consistent with many postings about the G part of G+V combo. Please keep us appraised as he moves forward to the V phase.

In the interim, you may want to read some of the Pinned Posts in a box on this page.

Same here! Husband was supposed to start Venclexta next monday but now told to hold off. Blood work yesterday was perfect. Have next Gazyva second week of Sept. Glad to hear your good news. This is our third round of Gazyva over the past 4 years and always well tolerated.
