I had my recommend injections to day for pneumonia and influenza .
I went prepared I'd copied the advice given here thanks Paula s.
And I asked the nurse if she was following the green book, she was.
I got her to read my information and it turns out i'd had pneumovax 23 about 3 years ago, so today I've had the prevnar 13 and heamophilus influenza type B(HIB)
They were done in separate arms . There sore now 😊but that's to be expected.

I’m SO GLAD to hear this, Pet-Lamb. Thanks for thanking me. Mystic75 and DebKat999 – many thanks to you too, for your kind comments.
I’ve had a tough few days (not CLL related), and your encouraging words gave me a much-needed boost today.
Thank you
Paula
P.S. I hope your sore arms soon feel better, Pet-lamb. Don't be too surprised if you get a slight fever and aching over the next few days. It may not happen but if it does, it shouldn't last long.
I'm happy to have lifted you're mood a little Paula life in all its forms can be awful at times,I explained to the nurse that I'd likely have a bit of a reaction as I do to the flue jab and I'm prepared but not looking forward to it ,I hope things improve for you we have enough to battle with our illnesses without outside influences dragging us down too.
Your post prompted me that I needed to book my second pneumonia vaccine, so thanks.
I wrote in October how I had also printed out the advice on this to take with me to show at my GP Surgery. If I had not they would have given me the single PPV23. After reading the advice they gave me the PCV13 and said they would update my records to say I would need to have the PPV23 in a couple of months.
I popped into the GPs today to make the appointment. About 20 minutes later I got a call saying we have just checked and you had the vaccine in October so you do not need the appointment! I patiently explained again that I needed a second vaccine, this time the PPV23 .
I will definitely print out the advice and take it with me to the appointment as I have a feeling I might well be explaining it all again.
So also thanks to Paula, Jackie and whoever else was involved in writing the advice. For me at least it has been well used!
