Things appear to be going very well. No issues with side effects from the Imbruvica. Feeling a lot more mentally alert whereas previously I felt ' Foggy'. Physically doing ok, I have started using weights to rebuild strength in my arms and walk or cycle daily for stamina. Imbruvica my best friend & I seem to be very compatible. Went into work to speak with my manager regarding returning to work at the start of August & discussed a plan for a phased return. Probably 3 hours a day for the first 2 weeks then build up slowly provided all goes well. After 8 months off I'm sure it will be a shock to the system, but looking forward to returning to 'Normality'. Love and strength to all.

Very lucky to be doing well CLLwise. Go for my annual with the oncologist tomorrow. Back and neck are not as good but 50 years post car accident what can u expect. Awaiting call from chronic pain clinic which could be another six months. Canadian medicine has its downsides.

Thanks, Jack. I'm doing pretty well. Will have my biannual check-up with CLL specialist in one week. But basically the ibrutinib is goign well for me. My neutrophils are a little low (1.5), and I feel I should have more energy than I do. But otherwise healthy. Thankful to be alive and not ill! :)

Thanks for the update, Jacks. I'm so glad Ibrutinib is suiting you. It was time something went well after all you've been through.

I hope all goes well with your phased return to work next month. If you find it hard at first, maybe they could be flexible about making it a more gradual return to start with.

Not wanting to be pessimistic but when my hubby went back to work on a phased return, after a broken leg with major complications, it was too much too soon. He had to go off sick again. (He's back at work now though and is OK.). He didn't have CLL but it's the same principle that sometimes it takes longer to fully recover, than we expect.

Wishing you all the best,

Paula

Thanks Paula. My employers have been given the reasonable adjustments that I require under the equality act. e:g If I need to take a break to rest. Access to drinks in hot weather etc. I went back too quickly last time - Lesson learned!. Hope you are well.

That’s more good news Jack! Let us know how the weights and muscle-building go. I think I should be trying the same. Be well.

Thank you Owen. The improvement since starting Imbruvica is so far quite remarkable. Always the doubt that something will throw a spanner in the works, but trying to stay positive. Hope you are well. Best wishes.
