Hi all. What a great page so much useful info. I have been w & w for 10yrs. Last appt my wbc was 42 & lymph was 47..lots of nodes in neck, groin etc. Have been thinking it's time to get 2nd opinion. Can anyone recommend a haemotogist. Currently under the care of one at Concord. Thanks

I don't live in Sydney, but am aware of the name of Prof. Stephen Mulligan who is a haematologist specialising in CLL.
He is at the Royal North Shore Hospital.
HI Marien21,
Yes Mulligan at RNS or his wife Freeman at the SAN.
I was looking at a Second opinion at Concord myself with Trotman but she is on LSL, so I was going to see Verner.
In the end I gave up on a second opinion as I got results back from a microarray test and it showed that the FCR is looking the best option.
So, 1st time treatment for me starts on Monday. I’m scared of the unknown.
Depends where you are in Sydney, but I see Jane Freeman at the SAN at Wahroonga & have been happy overall.
Best of luck Puckie!
I also see Jane freeman also we have just started my journey I am in the watch and wait stage.
I’m a few years ahead of you & Jane Freeman has been with me all through the journey. I might have been silly but as I had confidence with her from day 1 I didn’t look for a second opinion.
W&W for 5 years then full-on treatments – chemo etc, & then for me at least Ibrutnib came along just in time & I’ve been on it & OK for the past 3 years.
And other treatments are coming out all the time. So just based on my sole experience, if you’re just into W&W now you should have a very good long term outlook.
Regards,
