I am wondering how easy it is for a postmenopausal female to distinguish between hot flashes/night sweats and CLL b symptom night sweats? I had surgical menopause in my late 30’s and at 64 still have a night swat about 1/week. I think it it is of menopausal type, but then got to wondering. I could always take some estrogen for a few weeks to make sure they went away.
Are CLL night sweats EVERY night or different in some other way?

Hot flashes are drenching wet experiences. You have to change clothes/PJ's/sheets. Hot flashes are anything from chills that turn into hot waves or a burning sensation. Usually a quick flash, feeling of warmth, some sweating. They are extremely different feelings.
Night sweats can be random. Some might have it every nite. Let your oncologist know what yours feel like and how often.
When you experience drenching wet sweat at night, do tell your CLL physician. If/when it becomes a regular thing and to the point of having to get up, change your night clothes and bed sheets, it is symptomatic and needs to be reported.
Some people do not have that symptom.
I agree with you that a bit of estrogen cream? might help with what may be hot flashes. I use a cream prescribed for bladder extension and use it 3 times a week in a very small dosage. When I started using that, I no longer had the heat flushes with red face. (Never had full on hot flashes after a total hysterectomy in my 40s.)
