After a first round of FC made 8 years ago, now is time for treatment. My hematologist suggested Imbruvica. But if my CLL does not respond to that, what kind of treatment could I still have:chemo or something else.
Thank you in advance for any shared opinions!
Best wishes for all,
Lilica

Hi, lilica. Sorry, I can't answer your question, though I think there are several possibilities. Others here know much more. But just wanted to wish you the best as you make your decision. I'll be starting treatment soon too, with FCR, and feel much better now, having a plan of attack. Good luck to you as you go forward!
I was treated with chemo first and relapsed after two years. I’m on Ibrutinib now and things are going on the right direction. What my Mayo doctor tells me is the combination therapies are holding good promise for deeper remissions - there are many drugs coming down the pike and soon. Our future looks bright - so I take much heart. All the best.
I don't know where you are (you would want to lock your post, probably if giving specific information about yourself), but you might ask about trials that might be an option for you. There are some newer ones that are showing very good results, and acalabrutinib should be coming out of trials soon (second generation ibrutinib which seems to present fewer side effects for most.
