I have been on imbruvica for 7 months for cll. I have experienced the usual side effects but minimal. My question is the following - My bilirubin has moved from normal in seven months to a reading of 1.4 last month. My oncologist seemed a little concerned but not overly so. Has anyone out there experienced the same? lme

bilirubin increase with imbruvica
My Bilirubin is always been high about 2.2 or so. For over 20 years. It is called gilbert syndrome. I am on Ibruvica now and it has stayed about the same. I will look and see if it has gone up.
Gilberts syndrome people will always have a slightly raised bilirubin so that's normal for you Hoffy.
578999lme, the important thing re ibrutinib treatment will be the change from the baseline level (it must have been acceptable to start with) and whether it's stabilised or continuing to rise. Only your doctor can judge that one. Hope it's all OK.
I stopped taking Imbruvica after 7 months due to side effects. My bilirubin was not the issue. BUT my blood work was almost normal. Based on my past, I'll probably be ok for a couple of years til I have to take another drug. They already have a replacement for Imbruvica and in 2 years they may have something better still.
