Hi Vince, I have a close relative who is plagued with this condition and he swears by Neilmed Nasogel spray. I appreciate that fexofenadin has an anti-histamine component which you may need but he has found the gel spray less drying and irritating for long term use. You can buy it without prescription and Amazon stock it. Maybe best to mention to your doctor however.

Hope you get some relief soon.

I agree with 'Newdawn' Re the Neil Med Naso Gel - I can so sympathise with what you are going through it's so debilitating. I have also found that using the Neilmed sinus rinse kit helps ( Make sure you only use previously boiled or distilled water to dilute the sachets though) Plus - While not designed for the nose or indeed the nasal - Sinus cavities. I have also found soothing relief when I use my recently purchase Hot Eye Compress from 'The eye doctor' brand. I had been advised to use this as part of my treatment for 'Dry Eye' by my Ophthalmologist - Not only have I seen a great improvement with my eyes as a result of using the recommended natural gels / drops plus taking the Omega 3-6-9 capsules. I have also experience relief around my sinuses when applying the warmed eye mask - In fact I do the recommended 5 mins twice a day on my eyes then give it another 30 sec warm up and place it under my eyes across my nose and cheek area .. I also follow the treatment with the massage techniques recommended by both the Ophthalmologist and 'The Eye Doctor' product.

Anyway I appear to be getting a two for one treatment that is really helping both symptoms ! Anyway hope some of this info helps you find some relief - Plus should you wish to try any of the above I purchase all my 'kit' from Amazon . Good luck !

I've just ordered the Eye Doctor hot eye compresses after reading this Juliette as I have a very severe dry eye condition so thanks for the tip.

You're welcome:

FYI - She also advised that I use 'Thealoz Duo' eye drops 3x a day and their Eye Gel first thing in a morning last thing at night (All preservative free) Again shopped on Amazon as most competitive on price and while not cheap what a difference, what relief within a week of using these combined treatments ! For this past year I've had a running eye/s and thought it was my sinuses or allergy etc etc Even my doctor and local optician had a look and couldn't advised me ? ? ! ! It's was so miserable having to constantly be wiping my eyes. It was only after seeing the ear, nose and throat specialist re my sinuses that he wrote to my Doctor recommending I see the eye specialist. So finally after 12 months and many tears I'm not having to carry tissues around with me 24 / 7 😊

Glad you're finding some relief Juliette. I'm prescribed Hyloforte eye drops which I've used for many years for general lubrication (I have Sicca Syndrome).

Hopefully this hot compress will ease things further so thanks.

Best wishes,

Newdawn

It could be that what you are using is making things worse. Over the years, any spray, drop, or whatever made my sinus issues worse. I've had numerous "discussions" with doctors who assured me that whatever they wanted to give me was different. All of them resulted in infections developing. I basically rely on Sudafed and Claritin, and keep tissues handy. I occasionally use the Arm and Hammer pressurized nasal wash. I recently made the mistake of grabbing the local chain store brand (very similar packaging). It does not contain any baking soda, and was too strong and very irritating.

Hi Vince, I had the same problem for a year also did you have FCR? Do you have low immunoglobulin? I had antibiotics, nasal sprays etc. Finally my PCP (who handles respiratory issues) suggested a kenalog shot (a steroid). He said it would either work for a short time or up to three months. So I did and it calmed my sinus issue down finally. But I got a rash from it but the rash didn't itch and after a week it went away. I always had a problem with medication reactions anyway. No more thick yellowish mucus or inability to smell and taste. Then I also took Echinacea after the shot BRIEFLY, I say this because some feel it can increase WBC. though when I had my 3 MO. CBC it had gone down and ANC had improved. if you can find an experienced herbalist he can suggest which herbal combo would be best for your particular symptoms in case the shot should have temporary results or to just help keep symptoms from reoccuring during certain periods of the year if you believe you have seasonal allergies Or if you live in Europe they have great homeopath doctors who also deal in western medicine which I believe is the best of both worlds. well, that's my opinion I hope it works out. if you can't find herbal or homeopathic help where you live I can give you some suggestions on what works for me. Even though my issue has calmed down I plan to go to an allergist to see if there are any foods or environmental things that i could be sensitive to since treatment has affected my immune system more. hope I've helped in some way!
