2015 intermittent infections, reaction from flu injection Knoched me off my feet for 36 hours

2016 January chest infection 4 weeks multiple antibiotics

Hi John,

Sorry to hear of the problems since FCR.

Focus on the good result from the FCR and the knowledge that summer and nice weather is just round the corner.  Hopefully the good weather will see you on the up.

Best wishes, rob

Hi John,

I'm not surprised you're feeling a bit beleaguered with one thing after another at the moment. At the point when your FCR treatment finished, I can imagine that psychologically you'd hoped to be in remission and able to get off the illness roller-coaster. And then it set off again!

So I'm happily sending you a wee bit of sympathy though I suspect you're strong and will weather the ailments that have be-set you since. A possibility you'd have suffered them regardless of course.

Wishing you tremendous perseverance, determination and strength to maintain a fighting spirit in the face of so many challenges. But the main thing is you've come through the major CLL battle and achieved good results.

Best wishes...onwards and upwards!  Like the song says, 'things can only get better!' :)

(I keep telling myself that anyway!)

Hi john ,hope your bearing up an awful 3 months to start 2016, like the others are saying hang in there ,  summer is on the way and it can take the immune system a good while to get back into shape after FCR ....

Take care

stewie

After 6 months of FCR I think you can handle most anything. Ouch! Shingles on top of that! I'm surely impressed. I've had shingles twice and it was miserable. Surely your luck is about to change for the positive. Best of luck for some good health and good times. You are one strong man to have endured so much in such a short time.

Kind regards,

Sally

Sympathy going out to you!  You are among people who understand.  If I were close by I would bring you goodies!  Consider yourself given a batch of warm baked goods, whatever your favorite kind.  😊

A sympathetic word, a hand on your shoulder, an unexpected kindness - are very comforting.

More special still when sympathy is expressed from those who can really empathise with your struggles.

May you 'feel' our arms around you as you continue on your  journey to better health.

Hi John,  I haven't posted on this page in ages it seems.   For awhile, every few months I would get some sort of infection that would put me in hospital.  Three times in a row last year, my hematologist/oncologist put me in the hospital across the street from his office.  Each time we were lucky enough to get a room with short notice even on the 3rd floor, which was the cancer floor.  What was funny was that I had some of the same nurses and techs all three times.  And I actually remembered some of their names.  That made for some cute banter.  My husband would say, "Yeah, she has been in the hospital so many times, the cleaning lady even knows her name."  So, what can I say?  It was true.

Kidding aside, I can totally empathize, and I have made it my mantra to stay out of the hospital in 2016.  CLL numbers good, off of Imbruvica for 5 months, but my immunoglobulins are low,  So trying to tackle the infections with monthly IVIg infusions.

Wishing you the best and sending you a big virtual hug,

Dottie

Hi Dottie,

Good to hear from you but sorry you've been on the hospital merry-go-round with infections.

I know how you feel...between me and my mum I'm beginning to think we've bought a timeshare at the local hospital!

Take care and keep free of the lergy!

Best wishes,

Newdawn
