Dangerous places.

I am in the waiting room waiting for my blood tests and my six month consult with my oncologist/hematologist. There are so many people here today. The place is crazy busy. Lots of people wearing masks and looking very sick. Me? Compared to the rest, I look like the picture of health but I know I'm not.

This hospital, in the middle of flu season, scares the bajeeziz out of me. Is there any more dangerous place than a hospital for germs?

No nice way to say it. Cancer sucks! I'm sorry to see so many people who have it and that people are suffering. To heck with wishing for world peace. It will never happen. Instead, I'll just keep wishing some Einstein out there is smarter than cancer.

Hoping for the best.

Hoping for the best for you, no fun in the middle of that. First defence the Vick nasal spray may be a good idea to Zap any bugs that may have found you.

Good luck

Unfortunately for us our whole lives after diagnosis will be spent waiting. Waiting for our next appointment, waiting for treatment to start, waiting for treatment to end, waiting to see if it's worked then back to more waiting. it's a sad fact. Somehow we must learn to live with it. All we can do is try to be positive and on days we cant (I have many) just allow ourselves to be sad. I hope that today went well for you and also hope that when you feel able, you can share your results with us because although all our stories are different, they are still ultimately the same. Very best wishes to you. Peggy.

hi Rk66

Ah yes indeed, you have said exactly what i am sure, comes in to most of our minds, as we sit in the waiting room looking around.

I used to be a very chilled mild mannered soul.

but get me sat in a room next to someone with a cold, and watch me hyperventilate!

Wishing you all the very best!

Keep smiling!

I freaked out at work one day when there was a teenager spewing- cough, sneeze, nose dripping. I went and got a colleague to help him. ( I'm a librarian) He was a big germ fountain!

If I'm in an office with a closed off waiting room I give my cell phone number and tell them I'll be waiting in the hall, my car, whatever depending on the logistics if the room is crowded and / or people are sick. At my current hematologist's office there is an open area adjoining the actual waiting room where one can wait away from people and still hear your name called.

Fortunately for me, I live near Guy' hospital in south London. They have a newly built cancer unit/building that opens this spring (I may meet some of you there, in the future?!) But I still have my six monthly blood's, next week! I'm hopeful!

Good luck to us all, for future blood tests.

Well, I've experienced a "miracle" - blood test this morning prior to first clinic in my season of remission, this afternoon, and I breezed into an empty room, stabbed, drawn and patched up before I could start my relaxation exercises.

I've got a tickly throat, I'm apprehensive about my consultation meeting this afternoon and I'm doing a video interview with PatientPower this lunchtime so was nervous of waiting in a room full of sick folk. However like Moses at the "Red Sea" the waves parted and let me in.

Fingers crossed (and toes)

Best wishes to the most encouraging Community in WWW-land.

Roger

So many things are interrelated. World peace is related to education which is possible with good health. Good health is possible if proper techniqus might be developed. Young people education with motivation is were better treatments will be found. Likely will be young people not expected to find the unknown. All children everywhere has to be educated. Once the population over come poor health we will find peace. Good population health defeats slavers. Slaver people keep chains on us by way of money. As long as medical treatment cost so much, world peace is prevented. One day. One day the human race will be free from all their chains. Cancer must be a reason to find peace. Motivation sometimes hurts. This site is tied to Education.

I always use First Defence if I feel a sniffle coming on. So far I have avoided getting any bug doing the rounds. I have been on W/W for 5yrs and so far am in rude health for which I am thankful. Strength to all fellow CLLers.
