Be sure to see the Patient Power interview with Brian Koffman. It also features colleague Carol Preston, also a CLLer. Note, since it's brand new content, you do need to register (it's free) just like on Health Unlocked. I hope this is helpful: patientpower.info/video/dr-...

Thanks for your post Andrew. can you help

if we are already signed up for PP updates and latest news from your organisation why do we now have to join another community to view latest information?

Is this not being circulated via social media and other channels so that it is available to all without the need to join another community, or is this sensitive information that needs to be kept behind a wall?

Many thanks

Nick

Happy to explain: First the goal is to build a relationship with an individual in need. Beyond that, the only way Patient Power can get grants is if we can quantify a growing audience, just like HealthUnlocked. Therefore, we decided to require (just like Medscape, PatientsLikeMe, HealthUnlocked, ACOR and many others, where someone must login or somehow be a "member". However we made it required ONLY for content that is newer than 1 month. Everything else is open and free to anyone without any sign-in. As you know it is VERY costly to attend medical conferences and record 20-60 interviews. So while we never ask our audiences for any support, we do need to know who we reach to ask OTHERS to provide support. Beyond that, we wish to personalize content to the person who has signed in, like Facebook, and we can't do that without a login.

My experience is patients seeking resources use more than one site and each may have some requirement. We've tried to make it easier where people can use their Facebook login, maybe we should have the HealthUnlocked login work with us too?

I hope that explains. Thanks!

Andrew

Thanks for your speedy response this does give us information to absorb.

This will certainly drive traffic to you to aid income generation to fuel the hungry Patient Power machine.

Is this how you will release all of your latest news & video content?

Will this also apply to Patient Power EU content? There are a few great releases from ASCO and EHA here: patientpower.eu/video/chron...

Best wishes

Nick

Content on HealthUnlocked does not replace the relationship between you and doctors or other healthcare professionals nor the advice you receive from them.

Never delay seeking advice or dialling emergency services because of something that you have read on HealthUnlocked.
