Day 1 of cycle 12 today and with the exception of my platelets, (fluctuating around 100) and my low Immunoglobulins, all counts are in the normal range. Lymphocytes 2.4, LDH 222, B2m 2.8 (a month ago) and WBC 7.5. Biochemistry all in normal range also.

A CT scan and possibly BMB next month will reveal what remains of the heavy tumour burden I had at cycle 1. All in all, a good result.

How are others doing on this study?

Best wishes to all in treatment.

Platelets seem to be real slow to come back. It took a year for mine to get back to normal range from a low of ~85 when I started Ibrutinib.

Hi L_R,

Yes, mine were 83 when I started a year ago and reached 131 in November but have been on the slide since. I'm not unduly worried about platelets as it seems to be par for the course with Ibrutinib.

My LDH was 727 and B2M 7.9 a year ago, so happy to see them back in normal range, (B2M was just outside a month ago and I'm anticipating that it is probably now back under 2.4 which is the normal limit at Bournemouth).

Great news! Glad it's all going in the right direction for you. Is this trial at Bournemouth?

P.S Thought I recognized the local landmark!

Hi Calopteryx,

Thanks, yes, it's at Bournemouth. Helen McCarthy is my consultant there.

My grandniece abseiled down the tower last year for a charity.

Delighted to hear things are progressing well Mike, fingers crossed that it continues positively for you. Obviously an excellent study and great medical team.

Did you get any feedback on the suspected basal cell?

Hi Newdawn,

Thanks, yes, that's another piece of good news, it turned out to be non malignant :)

I'm still keeping a close watch, as we all should do. How is your situation now?

Ah I'm so glad to hear that Mikey, another hassle and worry you can well do without so good news!

I'm on 'surveillance' for the skin at the moment, Cons Dermatologist is doing another biopsy on my back in September just as a precautionary measure but I'm relieved he is keeping a skilled eye on me to be honest. All has healed well from the previous excision thankfully.

Take care and go from strength to strength with your treatment!

Good that you have that close surveillance and good to hear that your excision has healed well.

The all over scan that I had was very cursory and the dermatologist very dismissive of the fact that we are very much more at risk than most. I don't think I would go back to him, rather see the dermatologist at Bournemouth.

Take care of yourself,

Mike
