Hi! I am a mother of a 3 month old boy. we found out that his direct bilirubin was high ( GGT normal) when he was 3 weeks old. Since then several repeat labs were done specifically Liver enzymes. US looks normal. But his liver e zymes are high. BUT then it started to decrease, direct bilirubin from 14 to 12 to 8 to 4 to 3 as of now , along with the decrease of Sgpt and sgot. However, GGT suddenly raised. Maybe it was caused by phenobarbital? he took it for 10 days but stopped already. Poop is bright yellow. He is active. Socially smiling. Are there any similar exp? Thank you so much 🥹

Hi Hope 1222May God bless you and your child .

Only direct bilirubin matters as far as I know . If that is reducing then rest of enzymes also come to their range sooner or later . But I would suggest you to keep in constant touch of your gastroenterologist and follow his advice .•

Usually birth time jaundice normalize within 1 or 2 week . If it takes beyond that then you should immediately contact to your gastroenterologist.
