My son had gone through kasai on 85th day and post that stool was yellow or light green through out. 2 months after the surgery we noticed that bilirubin was increasing by a point or two. We consulted specialist and got to know that he might have low grade cholangitis although stool color was yellow. He is admitted since 2 weeks and have developed multiple complications like ascites, hepatic encephalopathy, increased ammonia. I m worried about him and wish he doesn't need transplant. If anyone has similar experience please share.
As a suggestion, please keep a close watch on your child's health post Kasai, as yellow stool sometimes could be misleading.

Hi, how is your son doing? I am in the same situation except my son had a liver transplant 3 months ago, he had 2 episodes off colangitis and distended abdomen, liver and spleen were very big but stool colour was ok. Don’t be scare if he needs a transplant this is the next thing if Kasai is failing. It is a bumpy journey but now seeing him with so much energy and rooming around the house makes me happy. This is the treatment for their condition
