Hi, my son has Alagille Syndrome and has just had a PEG feeding tube placed and the surgeon mentioned that his Liver I very enlarged and has nodules/ raised areas on it. At his last appointment his consultant said that his Liver is working although Liver numbers are raised. Any idea what these nodules mean?

Hi Emma, sometimes during consultant appointments, there is so much information that they do not give enough explanation. This has been the case with my daughter's autoimmune hepatitis. Phone the consultant's secretary and ask for a clear explanation, or call the liver direct unit and say you need more in-depth information. In the meantime, be strong and resilient. Remember to look after yourself too. Elle.

Hi Emma, Ellender is right, never worry about asking them to explain things fully and in plane English. CLDF have a leaflet "making the most of an appointment" you can download a copy by going to childliverdisease.org/Infor...

I hope this helps but if ever need further information or support please don't hesitate to get in touch with us

Kind regards - Jacquie
