My healthy 5yo post kasai with portal hypertension, no varices, has had loose tummy, some vomiting, generally not unwell, for 3 weeks.

We think he may he getting subtly bigger, firmer abdomen of late and he has some discomfort too, which he has never had. Anyone experienced this? Any advice welcome. Thanks.

I've got no experience as my son is only 5 months old, but if I had worries, I'd contact our liver nurse for advice. Hope everything is ok xx

Have you tried honey, it tends to be good in every occasion except when constipated. If he is active and content I wouldn't worry. No fever, no itching, no jaundice, then ust treat this via GP I would say. Usually doctors are most worried about black stools, vomitting blood, or any other sign of bleeding.

hi all and thanks for the reply. he seems to be ok now and eating normally and pooing normally. it seems it may have been a bug or disrupted gut flora. false alarm!!
