I have cervical spondylosis and was recently admitted to hospital with severe chest and arm pain. Iam taking 3x300mg Gabapentin a day. Today I've experienced the same chest/arm pain. It woke me up as it very often does in the night. Now wondering f I might have unstable angina. I feel very dizzy also. Anyone have any advice?
Advice anyone?: I have cervical... - Cholesterol Support
Advice anyone?
It could be unstable angina........take yourself off to A & e in an ambulance.......explain what's happening........they will test you out.
Good Luck
Tony
Please go and tell either your GP or go to A and E and get checked out. That's what they are there for and you need to be checked out, both to find out what's really going on and for your peace of mind. Let us know how you are.
Chest pain , arm ache call 999 let the experts decide
I went back to the doctors yesterday pm and had an ECG they said it was fine. I have had 4 ECG 's now and all are fine. My BP was high when I first went to A&E but it went back to normal. Neurologist arranged an MRI of brain and neck which I had done last Thursday. I guess I just have to wait for the results of that. I'm feeling really low not knowing what it can be and thanks to all of you for your responses. I am very grateful.
Perhaps your Gp could arrange for you to have a 24 hr ECG monitor and bp machine, it's attached to you and you carry on as normal, must be horrible waiting . Is the Gabapentin
For nerve pain. Are you on any other pain killers, do you think it could be something like how you lay in bed, pillows etc, I think neck pain can also cause dizziness, hope you feel better soon, take care
Here is a thought. Could the spondilitis be causing the problem? Could there be a problem with your neck/spine that is causing the dizziness? A pressure point on the artery to the head through the neck be an issue with the position you sleep in? Perhaps a further exploration into that area of the body with your Consultant after a visit to your GP for an urgent appointment may be the answer. If the heart is OK it may be the flow of the blood through the arteries around the neck/head that could have pushed up the blood pressure. Worth finding out perhaps?
I'm minded to listen to Patch14...You don't tell us your age but as we get older, and particularly if you have been diagnosed with c. spondilosis her explanation has to be a good possibilty. The arthritis in your neck could well be interferring with the nerve pathway down your arm. Seems you are having all the tests necessary to rule out other causes....perhaps heart issues. Easy to say but try not to worry....age doesn't come alone and some things we just have to live with. I do my sister does and several of my friends. Hope your results are ok.
