Hi there, I have high cholesterol despite the fact that I lost weight and I exercise. Do you know if herbal tablets work without side effects?

HiIf you're thinking of taking red yeast rice you should be aware that it contains a substance that is identical to the statin lovastatin. So you're still taking a statin but you don't know what the dosage is. I reduced my total cholestorel down to 4 by eliminating animal fats, replacing fat with nuts, olive oil etc. and eating pysilium husks and beans/pulses twice a day. ie the soluble fibre in the gut is carrying the cholestorel away. That's not for everyone but I had an urgent medical need.

Anistame, I have taken Plant Sterols which I buy on Amazon. So far, that and diet has kept my cholesterol and my husband's in the normal range.

Check with your doctor before taking this.

Let me know how you are doing.
