I go for my quarterly check up with my consultant on Thursday. Hopefully, my cholesterol will be down, as I have stuck rigidly to a low fat diet, done lots of walking and lost a stone in weight since the last visit. Will report back!
Lipid clinic visit: I go for my... - Cholesterol Support
Lipid clinic visit
Well, I had my consultation today, and my consultant was very pleased. My total cholesterol figure is 4.3 and the LDL and HDL are all at the right levels. He was delighted to hear that I had lost over a stone in weight since my last visit and my BMI is down to 29 from 33 on my last visit. There's always a downside though. He said my BP was slightly raised and has put me on medication for that. I took the prescription in today but forgot to check the drugs. I think it's Ramipril but I'lll pick it up tomorrow and post on the board. Still waiting for an angiogram.
I did a treadmill test and didn't make it to the end, so I think they just want to check it out.
Well, I got my results in writing today. My totel cholesterol is down to 4.6 and triglyceride levels 1.9, HDL is 1.08. My weight has gone down from 86kg to 77kg and my BMI down to 30. I am still on the waiting list for an angiogram but my symptoms have now settled and there is no urgency for this test.
I had another blood test this week and my total cholesterol level is now 3.6 with tri-glycerides at 0.9 and my weight is now down from 13 stone to 11 stone 10 lbs. Very happy!
I had my angiogram yesterday and the doctor confirmed all was ok. He said there was slight furring of an artery but it was not stopping the blood flow, but he has prescribed a beta blocker (|Bisoprol). Got aanother blood test tomorrow for my consultant visit on 28 Feb.
